Giving USA - Southeastern Wisconsin 2023
About the Event
Giving USA released its annual report on philanthropy in June, publishing in-depth research on the who, what, and where of giving in 2022. To mark the release, Campbell & Company, in partnership with AFP Southeastern Wisconsin, is hosting Giving USA Southeastern Wisconsin 2023 on August 24, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 pm. Together, we will discuss the biggest headlines of 2022, and the current environment, explore what past trends can—and cannot—tell us, and forecast what’s next for our sector.
A panel of nonprofit leaders in the Southeastern Wisconsin area will weigh in on the data, sharing on-the-ground experiences and practical advice for their peers. Panel includes:
• Amy Blumenthal, CFRE Vice President | Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt LLC
• Melissa Baxter, President | Waukesha County Community Foundation
• Scott Marshall, Vice President of Development and Communications | Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin
Helping to inform and moderate the conversation:
• Melissa Berliner, Senior Vice President, Fundraising, Campbell & Company
Have a question for our panelists? There will be some time for Q&A during the event and throughout the presentation.

• Scott Marshall, Vice President of Development and Communications | Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin
Growing up in Milwaukee, Scott didn't know his family was food insecure. Thanks to a loving and creative mom, free school lunches, and an occasional visit to his church's food pantry, he experienced life like any other kid. The lightbulb didn't go off for him until many years later that his family faced hunger for much of his childhood, but thanks to programs like these, he never went to bed hungry. In his current role as Vice President of Development and Communications at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Scott’s goal every day is to ensure kids who grow up in similar situations can be kids, and not have to worry about where their next meal will come from.
Scott earned degrees in Sociology and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and puts both to great use in his current role. Scott's career has been split between 10 years in radio marketing with the occasional weekend or overnight shift DJing, and the past 14 years fundraising to feed neighbors in need. At home, Scott and his art teacher wife, Angela, love to go to Disney World, provide commentary on bad movies, and spend up to two hours every night trying to get their kids, Ellie and Alex, to stay in their rooms and go to bed.
