Making the Case for Resource Investment
About the Event
October Educational Luncheon
For development operations of all sizes, one of the ever-present challenges to senior leadership is making the case for philanthropic investment. Although we all face the pressures of ensuring responsible use of our organization’s dollars, under-investment in fundraising is as much, if not more of, a problem as over-investment. Join us for discussion focused on making the case for philanthropic investment. At this session, CCS’s Travis Carley and Peter Hoskow will share trends and tips for overcoming resource challenges with senior leaders and board members. We will also lead a discussion with development professionals from throughout the greater Milwaukee region on their challenges and how they tackle them.
Topics includes:
- Q&A on common challenges to securing philanthropic investment
- Making the case for additional fundraising staff
- Trends regarding the cost to raise a dollar and other resource measurements
- Crafting an ROI-focused argument for investment and forecasting the ROI of common fundraising costs
- Using comparative benchmarking for non-profit sectors and fundraising methodologies
- Enlightening your Board or CEO on the benefits of investing in fundraising resources
- Helping prospects and donors to better understand the reasons behind the financial needs of the organization and the impact of their gifts
- Recognizing the data needed for building a case for philanthropic investment
