Job Summary:
The Director of Development, Corporations is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with corporate partners to secure funding and support for Marquette University. The Director will identify potential corporate collaboration and partnership opportunities, develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, create persuasive proposals, and ensure the successful management of corporate contributions. Additionally, (s)he will collaborate closely with faculty, administration, and corporate stakeholders to align funding initiatives with the university's strategic goals and priorities, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships that advance the university's mission.
- Fundraising Excellence: Exceed individual annual fundraising goals by cultivating new donors and renewing existing ones, including major gift solicitations. Contribute to the team’s overall fundraising success through collaborative and creative input.

- Proposal Development and Solicitation: Lead the process of development, writing, and submission of gift and grant proposals to secure funding from corporate donors.

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for corporate fundraising efforts in coordination with university and department leadership. Further generating annual plans to reach individual fundraising goals.

- Identify Funding Opportunities: Research and identify potential corporate partners and funding opportunities that align with the university's priorities.

- Relationship Management: Cultivate and steward relationships with corporate representatives, ensuring ongoing communication and engagement.

- Reporting: Prepare and submit reports to corporations, demonstrating the impact of funded projects and initiatives. Also work with UA colleagues to review and share annual impact reports to donors.

- University Representation: Appropriately represent the university at external events and meetings with foundation representatives, showcasing the institution’s strengths and strategic priorities.

- Collaboration with Faculty and Colleagues: Work closely with faculty and staff, specifically, but not limited to
the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs and colleges to identify projects and initiatives suitable for foundation funding.

- Data metrics and performance monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of foundation fundraising efforts, making adjustments to strategies as needed to improve outcomes including the achievement of individual fundraising goal. Specific data tracked includes dollars raised, proposal submissions, external meetings and donor qualification.

- Responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student's assignment, etc.
