AFPSEWI New Year's Resolution
Energized Engagement = Community Connections = Terrific Teamwork
Greetings –
It’s hard to believe that we are almost one full month into a new year. I hope everyone had a great year-end and that you are well on your way to achieving your 2021 goals. As our AFP Chapter looks at a new year, we are reaching out to you for some help and support.
Our Board of Directors is stronger than ever. We have some very dedicated Directors who are working hard to lead committees so that our chapter continues to bring quality educational programming, support for emerging professionals, a memorable National Philanthropy Day, and other aspects that bring benefits to members. In doing this, we need your help.
Our committees are in need of volunteers. There are openings on every one of our committees (Membership, IDEA, Education, Communication, Mentoring, Scholarships, NPD). Each committee has its specialty area and there’s something for everyone.
Joining a committee will help expand your network, provide your expertise or learn a new skill. I think Julie Cordero, Board Member and former VP of Education, said it best…
"Joining a committee or two was the best AFP decision I made. I was struggling to connect with people at educational luncheons and/or stay connected with my tablemates after the luncheon ended. The marketing and education committees have provided me with a strong network of people that I can call on to problem-solve with, share the joy of my successes, and commiserate when we’re struggling together. Fundraising can be a very isolating journey. AFP has brought me out of the isolation and into the joy."
I encourage you to check out our website to see what committee might best suit your skillset – or perhaps give you the opportunity to do something new!
Thanks so much in advance for helping to make our AFP chapter stronger and more diverse. We look forward to working with you as a volunteer!
