Four Ingredients to Successful Proposals that Help Non-Profits Put Mission into Action
Presenter: Dawn Helsing Wolters, Director of Institutional Giving at Alverno College
Crafting a strong grant proposal is much more than just a fundraising task. Grant writing articulates how a non-profit organization fulfills its mission and envisions how it creates and implements solutions to community needs. Grant writing often involves program planning -- fine-tuning an idea into an actionable plan with clear goals that align with community and organizational priorities. This session will cover the four main elements of a strong proposal/fundable project by linking problems, proposed solutions, effective strategies, and projected costs to a grantmaker’s interests.

Who Should Attend?
This brown bag lunch educational session is geared towards the "developing" fundraising professional - anyone who's been in the field for less than 10 years, is returning to the field after taking a break, or is new to their position within fundraising.

About Our Presenter:
Dawn Helsing Wolters has served as Director of Institutional Giving at Alverno College since 2013. Her work in fundraising and grant writing spans more than 30 years, primarily in the arts and in education at small, medium-sized, and large institutions across the country. When she’s not raising money for Alverno or teaching fundraising and grant writing to undergraduate and graduate students, you can find her at the theater or volunteering with the Shiba Inu Rescue Association.
